San Francisco Wedding in pictures

I was in San Francisco last weekend to attend a friend’s wedding. The day of the wedding started really early. I woke up from my ice cream coma the night before feeling my sugar hangover.

I was the first one up for make-up at 7am.

After hair and make-up. It was time to get dressed and put on our bridesmaid accessories. Matching jewelries courtesy of the bride and our beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Then we were off to church for the ceremony.

No pressure. I was the first one to walk down the aisle. Calm and collected.

After church, more pictures were taken.

I couldn’t get enough of the flowers. I’m a flower person so I love to be surrounded by them. I couldn’t resist doing a photoshoot of my engagement ring.

I took some fun photos while the photographer was setting up our shots.

Then it was time to put our game face on.

Look here, now look there. Look left…NO, your other left. Make V-shape, now do reverse V-shape.

Big smile, act natural…but, but my lips are shaking and my smile hurts 😦

Are we done yet? Can we eat now? My face feels like it’s melting.

I spotted this small fountain after the pro-photographer shoot was done. Lets take one more shot.  I don’t want to wear my shoes.

We arrived at the reception right before my face melted.

My friend Evie baked 125+ cake pops for all the wedding guests. She’s a very talented baker and makes pretty desserts. Red Velvet cake shaped like a popsicle, with chocolate coating. It was labor of love.

Heaven!!!!

With some food in my belly, I happily took more pictures.

For dinner I had halibut with white lemon sauce (on the left). It was really good.  But I heard the steak was also tasty, especially the purple yam it was served with.

The wedding cake was full of chocolate yummy goodness. This was sooooo good, I want the same cake for my wedding. I’ll have to figure out how to ship it to Mexico and get it past customs.

It was open bar and lets just say that after a few drinks, we thought we were the cast of Glee, jumped on stage and started singing with roses as microphones and playing air guitar.

“Just a small town girl. Livin’ in a lonely world. She took the midnight train goin’ anywhere”

“Don’t stop believin’. Hold on to that feelin’ Streetlight people”

Seriously we need to be cut off from the alcohol.

Oh what a fun wedding and a great night!!!

Next stop the next day, Chocolate Festival at Ghirardelli Square.

  1. Oh my, the bouquets are BEAUTIFUL!!! You look so pretty in your bridesmaid dress and the food looks great 🙂 I can’t believe your friend baked and decorated so many cake pops, I think I would give up after 5 lol.

LOVE your blog lea! and woowww what a beautiful wedding and i’m loving the cake too… so yummmyyyyyyyyyyy what kind of cake was it?

    • Thanks for checking out my blog Shery. I’m glad you love it.

The cake was mocha walnut chocolate cake, espresso mouse with a walnut brittle bottom covered in white chocolate. My mouth started watering just writing the description 🙂

  3. Great pictures! Weddings are great, but pictures become quite painful 🙂 I had sweat dripping in places I didn’t know possible!! Glad you had a great time! So excited for your big day!

    ~Alyssa

    • Thanks Alyssa. There’s a lot of waiting around when you are taking wedding pictures but I actually didn’t mind it too much, my comments were just my funny jokes. There was a nice breeze during our photo session so not too bad.

I saw your wedding pictures, I can’t tell you were hot or bothered at all. They came out really beautiful.

What a great blog Lea! So that’s where all the food pictures went! 🙂 Good job!

  5. Kath (Eating for Living) says:

Beautiful pictures! Lovely bouquets, decoration, and dresses, and the foo looks mouthwatering!

Did it get you into a wedding mood even more?

Btw I had a coconut soup yesterday, and it was yummy!

    • Thank you. Yes, it definitely got me in full on wedding mood. I paid attention every step of the way. I was even imagining shots I wanted to do with my photographer, lol! But I also on bridesmaid duty so anything the bride ask, I did 🙂

Oh I’m happy for you that you tried coconut soup. Was it spicy? or sour? Most coconut soup I eat are in Thai restaurants and they are really flavorful and pack a lot of punch.

  6. Kath (Eating for Living) says:

    Ah, the fooD! LOL

  7. WOW- the wedding looks incredible. You look so so pretty! I love the bridesmaid dresses- pink and brown are great colors. The photo shoots after the wedding can be a bit exhausting, but it looks like the food made up for it!

In terms of veggie steam time- I usually just poke them with a fork to check tenderness. I like mine still a slight bit firm 🙂

    • Thank you Erica. The colors reminded me of cupcake colors, I think that’s why I wanted dessert the whole day and especially during the photoshoot.

Thanks for the tip on steaming sweet potatoes.

    My Darling Lea,

I love your awesome blog to pieces!!!! Thank you for capturing our special event!!! Thank you for being a part of our wedding. I hope this stays up forever! Love you so much!!!

    Mrs. Lizelle Sierra

P.S. Can’t wait to see you walk down the aisle. Puerto Vallarta here we come!!! The cake is from Masses Pastries in Berkeley (best bakery ever).

    • Thanks Zelle for stopping by. Hope you were able to relax days after the wedding.

I was honored to be part of the wedding party, witnessing everything up close and personal. I want to go to the bakery with you next time I visit.

  9. What a gorgeous wedding and you look beautiful! I love the color choices – brown and pink are classic. And the cake looks delicious…I would love a bite of that right now!

  10. Aww, you look so gorgeous. I love the color scheme to this wedding!

Food is definitely the best thing about weddings 😉

  11. You look beautiful! Love the no-shoes fountain shot too 🙂

That cake looks like I’d eat about 10 slices. I’ve been known to do that at wedding 😛

    • Thanks Shanna. That shot was very last minute and everyone was starting to leave and headed to the reception and I saw a picture opportunity 🙂

10 slices? I think if you ate 10 slices of the huge slice I got, you’ll have a whole cake tier for yourself, lol 🙂

  12. You look gorgeous!

And they served purple yam?? I LOVE those! I can only find them at our Asian Market but I always stock up when I find them!

    • Hi April, thanks for stopping by. The purple yam side dish was good. I’ve actually seen them at the asian market too but never picked them up, I guess I was intimidated and didn’t really know how I would prepare it besides roasting it.

  13. You look gorgeous! I love flower pictures too, very pretty. Email me if you want to exchange numbers so next time you’re in the area we can meet up 🙂

  14. Wow what an awesome wedding! I love the pictures 😉

  15. Everything looked beautiful! Loved your makeup and dress!

And I want that cake for myself- all the layers are throwing me in a tizzy…

  16. This looks like so much fun! I miss being in wedding parties. I grew out of being a flower girl, so now I have to wait until my friends start to get married haha. You look really pretty! Great dresses!

Oh and this is my first time dropping by, so HELLO 😀 I’m kinda new to the game.

  17. Lovely pictures! I like your dress, I had something similar but longer when I was a bridesmaid 🙂
