I miss my girls.
My group of friends from college came to hang out for a much needed girls slumber party, most of us met each other freshman year at the dorm rooms at San Diego State University 10+ years ago.
We haven’t seen each other for a few months and we had a lot of things to celebrate and catch up.
- My engagement
- My friend Sena’s recent engagement in Hawaii (she shared beautiful pictures from her helicopter ride in Kauai)
- Sarah’s wedding in Tahiti (we viewed 2000+ of stunning pictures)
Sena brought us fresh plumerias, they were so beautiful so we wore them on our hair. Sarah brought over some treats from Tahiti.
We had dinner at a Thai restaurant and then came home for dessert and drinks.
I played bartender and made Pomegranate martinis using POM Wonderful pomegranate juice. I love this juice, so tasty and healthy.
I made mocktails with 2 cherries for the expectant mothers and non-drinkers. Martinis for the rest of us with single cherries.
Pomegranate Martinis included POM juice, Citrus sparkling water, orange liqueur, vodka and frozen sweet cherries. (Mocktails = no alcohol/vodka).
I love creating cute and pretty drinks such as Pomegranate Martinis.
Chocolate covered strawberries. They were very easy to make, less than 15 minutes (excluding 1 hour cooling time).
All together now.
First drink goes the to bartender of course!
We also had fun playing around with a new fish-eye camera lense.
My cozy room 🙂
Presents from Tahiti with love. My friend Sarah just returned last week from her wedding and honeymoon in Tahiti and she brought us tanning oils, teas and cookies. They were all so fragrant.
Cheers to engagements, weddings and babies!!!! (oh boy, how times have change from our dorm room days)
We enjoyed unlimited amount of POM + sparkling water all night while chatting away and viewing pictures on the big screen until almost 4am.
After viewing hour and hours of Tahiti wedding pictures, I dreamt about Tahiti all night long, and told the fiance right when I woke up, “I know where we should go for our honeymoon”. Awww…in my dreams.
How fun! I love girls nights. Did you color coordinate on purpose? 🙂
Roxan, no we didn’t color coordinate on purpose. Most of the girls drove and came separately and we started laughing when we saw that we had similar outfits, especially the 3 girls wearing purple shirts.
We’re not suprised though, it has happened before. We just shrug it off now.
Oh I’ve had it it’s been awhile I recently purchased a Pomegranate and lemonade blend it’s very tart which I love tart stuff anyways. Yumm..
Oh what a fun girls night out! Great to see girl’s get togethers filled with new beginnings and past. Glad you enjoyed yourself.
You look so gorgeous girl! Your POMtinis don’t look too bad either! 😉
I would LOVE to go to Fiji or Tahiti for my honeymoon!
I love POM Juice.
Your girls night looks like so much fun and those strawberries look delicious.
Hollie, I’ve only tasted the pomeranate flavor for POM juice. Have you tried the other flavors/teas? Are they any good?
Such gorgeous ladies! Glad you guys had fun. Looks like you were QUITE the hostess. The drinks and the chocolate covered strawberries look super tasty. Y’all have such interesting wedding locations.
Thanks Erica. We all seem to have the travel bug, so far we have 2 destination weddings including mine.
You ladies look so cute. I love the flower in the hair and the color coordination.
I have had POM juice. It was tasty. I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii.
I love girls night out, we’re having one this weekend 🙂 yours looked so much fun and the strawberries.. mmm! you also look very cute in that purple top 🙂
Anne, have fun this weekend with your girls. Hanging out with girlfriends is such a stress reliever 🙂 Since we haven’t seen each other for awhile, we had to much to say and it felt like we were all talking at the same time and nobody was listening to each other. Fun times!
looks like a blast!! i’m going to have to make your POM mocktail for my husband since he doesn’t drink… i think he would love it!
Let me know if he likes it. I’m going to make some for the fiance too but I’ll put it in a manly cup instead of the martini glasses 🙂
Wow- such BEAUTIFUL pictures 🙂
I LOVE all of the flowers & colors that you incorporated.
Such a fun night with your girls! Glad you were all able to get back together to celebrate all of the exciting events coming up.
My brother in law & sister in law actually went to Tahiti & Bora Bora for their honeymoon..and OMG the pictures they took were just amazing. It was like in a dream!
Hi Holly, thanks for checking out my blog. How fun for your brother in law to have gone to Tahiti for their honeymoon. Did you drool on their pictures like I did?
It’s definitely like a dream and heaven on earth with its blue waters and lush surroundings. I did dream about it too, so maybe that’s a sign I should travel there 🙂
I love POM! And it looks like you ladies had a fabulous time.
I want to go to Bora Bora or Fiji. We didn’t have a “real” honeymoon, so I told the hubby as soon as we pay off our debt, and save up some money, we’re taking a REAL HONEYMOON! And Bora Bora is definitely on there!
Sounds like a plan 🙂 My friend who just returned from her honeymoon in Tahiti is already planning on going back in 2 years after they saved up for the trip again.
What a great night!! You ALL look gorgeous! I like your style for a martini…no booze! Brilliant!
Thanks…..Jaime, Mocktails are the way to go if you don’t want any hangover the following day. The bubbles from the sparking water makes it fun to drink. Red is a pretty color for the drinks too.
i’m in love with your purple top. and your bedspread! my two favorite colors 🙂
Thanks Christina. Purple top was from a clearance rack at Nordstrom Rack, definitely scored on that shirt 🙂 I love prints and the green/nature theme on the bedspread makes me calm when it’s time to go to bed.
So funny you noticed the small details, me and you both have the same eyes for details.
Girls nights are the absolute best! There’s nothing like ’em. And I love the POM martinis along with the chocolate dipped strawberries..so feminine!
Your hair looks FAB too!
Thanks Shanna like Banana:) Now you know what I’ll be bringing if we ever get together some day.
hey Lea, i’m having a great time scrolling through your blog! looks like you girls had a blast. i’m sure your friend has an AMAZING wedding in Tahiti. we got married in Fiji and i highly recommend. it was really low key, my husband and i got married at sunrise so everything was done by 7am. (we actually took a nap and went to THE SPA in the afternoon!!) looking forward to reading more! 🙂
I’m glad you are enjoying reading the blog. A nap and trip to the spa? Wow, what a relaxing wedding day you had 🙂
I’m getting married at a private beach in Puerto Vallarta only accessible by boat and I have an option to go the spa the morning of the wedding and to use the private beach for snorkeling and frolicking in the water….I hope I can be relax and not stressed and take advantage of all the relaxing activities being offered. Thanks for sharing your wedding story, I really want to be relax too just like your wedding day.
