Pure Bar – Simple, real ingredients

Pure Bar sent me their bars to sample. Pure Bars are made from certified organic ingredients and are gluten-free, vegan, raw, kosher and entirely delicious.

When I buy snack bars, the first thing I look at is the list of ingredients. Pure Bar list their ingredients in the front of their packaging, “because real food does not need to hide in fine print”. Don’t you agree?

There are 6 flavors:

  • Apple Cinnamon
  • Cherry Cashew
  • Chocolate Brownie
  • Cranberry Orange
  • Trail Mix
  • Wild Blueberry

My favorite flavor is the Wild Blueberry bar. I am a chocolate girl thru and thru and was really surprised that I liked the fruit bars better. All the flavors tasted great but the Wild Blueberry really won me over.

It’s not overly sweet, which is what I look for in snack bars. It contains only natural fruit sugar.

The second most important thing for me is good texture. I like bars that have texture. I like to taste the nuts in the ingredients. I don’t like snack bars where the ingredients are overly processed and taste like mush.

Most of the snack bars I find at the store have oats or rice crispies that adds texture in them, these don’t,  so I was happy that there were chunk of nuts in the bars to add texture.

I really like these bars, I just wished they make them bigger in size.

P.S. My kitchen has been very busy, but not because of me. I will tell you story soon.  The only time I get to use my kitchen these days are in the morning, so I have been on a baking spree 🙂
