It’s a Small World

After a week of non-stop rain (I don’t remember the last time that happened here in SoCal), the sun is out and….

It’s a beautiful morning

View from the office

I  know a lot of people are now on holiday vacation but I am still working. Traffic is very light so coming to work takes half the time, yay 🙂

After my treadmill HIIT workout this morning, I took advantage of the warm weather coming back and made myself a green monster protein shake.

  • 1 C almond milk, ice & water
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 2 handful of fresh spinach
  • 1 whole frozen banana

and ate a small oatmeal raisin bar to complete my breakfast.

I arrived at work with gifts and treats on my desk. I love the holidays 🙂

Our office kitchen is also filled with holiday treats sent by vendors.

I have a taste here and there, but I think my taste buds are changing because these are definitely too sweet for me now.

Speaking of treats, my secret blogger from our holiday baking exchange spoiled me. I received the goodies a few weeks ago and they are all gone now. Sad day.

Mandi from Itzy’s Kitchen sent me this beautiful loaf.

Plenty of healthy cookies (wholesome ingredients, no white sugar & vegan)

My family and I enjoyed these treats so much that I actually baked my own batches after to satisfy their cravings.

Thank you again Mandi. You definitely know how to spoil a girl with bake goods. I love giving treats away for Christmas, so now I know what it feels like to get goodies in the mail. It’s a lovely feeling.

Christmas at Disneyland

Here are more pictures from our Disney outings. This is from “It’s A Small World” ride. The park closes the ride for a few weeks to decorate it for the holidays.

I found some videos here (2009) and here (2010) if you want to see the entire ride.

Enjoy!

  1. Looks like fun!!!!!! Merry Christmas!

  2. looks like gorgeous weather there in cali!
i have only been on the small world ride once, but it was fun!

  3. Isn’t it crazy how some things can be ‘too sweet’? I never remember having a problem with it, but now I almost can’t take regular baked goods. I usually half the sugar in most of my recipes which makes it perfect 🙂

    • About a year ago, nothing tasted “too sweet”. A year of healthy eating and cutting back on sugar has changed my taste.

I’m so sensitive to sugar now. I find store bought desserts too sweet for me so I’ve been eating my version at home for my indulgent treats.

Me too! I can’t handle sugar anymore! I cut it out last year, and now I don’t even think twice about eating a cookie or candy. I used to buy tons of it. Love ur pics! Merry Christmas!!

  5. Such lovely pics!
Wish you a Merry Christmas and a really happy New Year, girl!
    xoxo

  6. I used to hate “Its a small world” cause the song would get stuck in my head…for like, WEEKS! I think I might be able to enjoy these days as an adult (a “semi” adult since I act like a kid often….). I like “sweet” things but I dont like overkill. I feel the same way about spicy food. Too much and you cant taste anything!

  7. merry christmas lea!!

  8. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Hey Merry Christmas HC. Awesome pics.

Happy to here you had a wonderful time with family. It was wonderful for me as well. I have pictures that I want to show you of The Balian House. I went to my friends house of 20+ years for Christmas spent Christmas Eve with Family.

I mentioned the Balian House to my friend and guests and we all said ok let’s go. It was raining a bit but we took our umbrellas and jackets and still went it was beautiful driving up and seeing tons of lights there was a glow like no other.

We drove half way up Christmas Tree line that was awesome too. The only place I didn’t make it this year was the lights at the LA Zoo through the park. Maybe they are still up till after New Year I Might just take a drive out there before then as well.

We had tons of goodies too, Charging my Camera battery to upload them to my computer so incoming later.

    Hugs!

    • I hope your family and party guests thanked you for the wonderful idea of seeing the Christmas lights. I can imagine the lights glowing during the rain and how it must have looked.

I’m glad you were with your loved ones during Christmas, it’s so nice to be surrounded with people you love during this time of the year.
