Road Trip

We have arrived at our road trip destination. Viva Las Vegas!!

I am the designated driver for this trip so no pictures during the drive, but I did take a snapshot during a quick stop. Pretty much from L.A. to Las Vegas, it is 5 hours of driving with this scenery. Mountains and deserts.

Last time I was in Vegas, my hair was shorter, I wore a fedora hat and danced all night long.

But this trip is quick and will be all about family time. I drove my mom and aunt to Las Vegas so they can visit other family members they haven’t seen for a long time. Quality time with family.

Road Eats

This morning we packed the Banana Blueberry muffins for the road. I also made a simple sandwich to take on the road too.

The sandwich includes whole wheat bagel thins, turkey slices, cheddar cheese, hummus and veggies.

After 2 hours on the road, the hunger pangs came calling. We made a pit stop at Starbucks and I got a venti unsweetened green tea drink.

I ate half the turkey sandwich and a KIND bar.

I read this at Starbucks, and it caught my attention. When did they start doing this? That’s good news.

We arrived at our destination after 4.5 hours. We are staying at my cousin’s house. She lives a few miles north from the main strip in Las Vegas. Her house is very lovely.

I got comfortable right away as you can see. I don’t know how to play drums but I can pretend for a long time that I know how.

My cousin’s house has my dream kitchen, complete with double oven and a walk in pantry. Oh my. I want to move in.

I took a ton of pictures to bring back home because we are in the beginning of our kitchen renovation so this visit is giving me a lot of design inspirations.

Very spacious kitchen. I can have a baking marathon here.

I got to pick my room to sleep in tonight. I chose the most girly one of course 🙂

After the house tour, we snacked some more.

My cousin loved the muffins I brought.

Now I’m resting, blogging and watching shows from her DVR (Oprah). Who needs a hotel when you are welcomed with this much love and hospitality.

We are off to dinner soon. See ya when I see ya 🙂
