Last Saturday, I attended the “Be Fit and Pain Free in 2011” event hosted by Kathy Kaehler and sponsored by Salonpas Pain Relief Patches.
SALONPAS is a pain patch with NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) medication you can put on your body for relief. So instead of taking an aspirin or ibuprofen, you can just put a SALONPAS patch directly on the part of your body that is causing you discomfort.
You can request for free samples on their website.
Salonpas invited local L.A. bloggers to workout with Kathy Kaehler. She has trained many celebrities in the past including Julia Roberts, Michele Pfeiffer, and Jennifer Aniston.
Each blogger had the opportunity to bring a friend or a blog reader with them. Here’s a group picture of the whole gang.
We chatted and mingled before the fun event started.
Me with my guest Annette, who won the giveaway on the blog. She has been reading for months and always leave me such lovely comments. I’m glad we finally met.
Me with Amanda and Kaitlin. We had a chance to hangout in November during Foodbuzz in San Francisco so it was nice to see familiar faces.
I finally met Sarah from Skinny Runner. We are practically neighbors as she is from the OC too. (Full names are on the name tags, covered it for privacy).
After the chit chats, it was time to start our circuit training. No bootcamp style of training here, Kathy was nice and very knowledgeable.
She explained the importance of using correct form and went into details of what muscles you can expect to work from each exercise.
Then it was our turn. We split into groups of 3, we did 1 minute at each station, about 8 stations total then repeat 3 times.
My favorite station was the trampoline. It was all fun and games on that station. It’s a great workout and really fun too. Me and Kaitlin tried to create a synchronized routine.
The hardest station was the planks. It’s not my favorite even though I know that it is really good for your core.
Amanda, Kaitlin and me holding our planks for the camera 🙂
This must have been the 3rd round of the circuit and our third planks. The vein on my neck is going to pop any minute now. Don’t let the smiley face fool you, that’s my “I’m in pain” face.
Oh but it hurts so good!
Monica and me chatting away, it distracted me from the burn I was feeling on my thighs. (Photo borrowed from Kelley)
The rest of the workout was enjoyable. Even though we were working hard, we were also socializing at the same time. It was great to catch up with old friends and get to know other bloggers.
The bloggers who I had the pleasure of working out with:
-Amanda: Two Boos Who Eat
-Kaitlin: Kaitlin with Honey
-Rose: Eat Drink and Be Meiri
-Sarah: Skinny Runner
-Maryann: The Balanced Bean
-Caryn: Rockin Mama
-Alyssa: Mommy Warriors
-Kelley: Kelocity
-Monica: Run, Eat, Repeat
After our workout, we gathered together and Kathy discussed with us what healthy living means to her. She also talked about the “Sunday Set-Up Club” she is starting on her website.
Sunday Set-Up™ is a routine to organize and prep your food on Sunday so you can quickly and easily make home cooked meals and snacks throughout the week. Sunday Set-Up™ is perfect for families and busy singles and it is easy as 1-2-3
She is going into celebrity homes and helping them do their Sunday Set-up.
It was a really fun and informative event. Thank you Salonpas and Kathy Kaehler for hosting this event and for the swag bag we received. I will be reviewing Salonpas after I’ve had a chance to use it.

What an awesome event!!!!! Sounds like a great experience!
SUCH a fun day! I love that you got to workout and that it was educational! And the goodies bag isn’t bad either 😉
Hi Lea,
I had a lot of fun, I noticed I got a Fire Red Lipstick instead. lol O.O
The work out you wouldn’t think it would do much but it did it was a good work-out challenging at times.
Annette
Looks like SO much fun! I love Sarah’s blog too 😀
Planks are so hard! I should really work on those…
Very cool!!! Looks like lots of fun actually.
Are those gummies (?) Sounds like fun. I wanted to go but didn’t enter because I wasn’t sure if I’d be free. It looks like you were up in the Calabasas area, which I sometimes go (my bf lives in the valley) — it’s nice!
Julie, you’re right. Our workout was in a private community in Calabasas. The same area where you’ve seen on reality TV, where the Kardashians live and maybe Denise Richards too? Too bad I didn’t get to see any celebrities but the Farmers Market was really busy that day.
We might organize a local hike soon. I will post in on the blog when we do.
I love your plank pictures! I wish I had thought of that.
Hi Rose, I like those pictures too. I though it be hard to use the timer, but it looks like it worked out after all.
