Photo Shoot & Giveaway

Any day that ends with red velvet cake is a good day for me 🙂

Yesterday’s photo shoot flew by so fast, as fast as the bugs flying around us while taking pictures.

Lets get started with the prep. It took me an hour to get ready, of which 50 minutes is managing my thick long hair.

And my hair was ready for a photo session that included running on water, staying still while bugs crawled on me and of course, lots of kissy poses.

And oh, I got a manicure too. This is my first time EVER getting a manicure. I go for pedicure often, but manicure? Why bother? Since I’m always in the kitchen baking and cooking, didn’t think the nail polish would stay on.

This is supposed to be the new magical “gel” OPI polish.  As Happy Nails told me, they are tough and thick, so they won’t chip. We’ll see about that. Lets see how many dozen cookies this nail polish will stay on for.

Our photographer’s “secret garden” location was in the most remote places I’ve been to here in Southern California.  It was beautiful.

We were surrounded by canyons, and had our little nook where we can take beautiful pictures. Even if we looked awkward in our pictures, at least the picturesque and ethereal background will be make up for it.

I didn’t even think this place existed around here….….(my point and shoot camera doesn’t capture the beauty of this place)

To get there, we had to go on a little walk that looked like this

Yup, we had to walk on water

Then we hiked to a secluded area and found our spot.

The fiance explored while Paul, our photographer, got his equipment ready.

“Hunny, don’t get dirty before we start taking pictures!!”

I brought a ton of clothes because I was indecisive on what to wear. I figured I’ll know what to wear when it was time to change.

I wore 2 outfits during the shoot and that was plenty enough. I kept it simple and wore my regular everyday clothes.

Below is outfit #1. I climbed on rocks, played in the water  and did yoga poses with that bright skirt. It was so much fun!!

The 2nd outfit is below. We jumped, climbed on trees and did other adventurous poses in this outfit.

This was right after the photo shoot ended. The “light” that we chased all afternoon is gone, but it’s still beautiful. 

We are definitely planning to come back here again….that is, if we can find it.

Our photographer Paul was great with us. He made us laugh and made us feel at ease. He tried different “funky” poses with us, his words not ours.

I can’t wait to see the pictures in a few weeks.

Saw this tag on his shirt…”just a cheap shirt”.

Here are some outfits I tried on that I didn’t use. I especially loved the orange/black print dress but I decided it wasn’t right for the photo shoot.

Hopefully I will be able to run a marathon in the future but I am not ready. I am happy and and enjoying my 10K and half marathon races for now.
