Black Cherry Cho

I woke up this morning and didn’t really feel like going to the gym. Probably because it was cold outside and the covers where holding me back from getting up.

Whenever I have days like these, I do some tricks to get myself motivated to workout.

I put the workout clothes in the dryer to warm them up for a minute, then I put it on and that fixes the excuse that I feel cold.

Then I rushed out to the kitchen and make instant coffee.  I usually make my french pressed coffee on normal days.

I’m out the door and on my way to the gym in 15 minutes. I try to get out of the house as quickly as I can before I think too much about what I’m doing.

Once I’m at the gym I tell myself “Get on the treadmill quick before your mind figures out that you are going to work out and gives you plenty of excuses not to.”

Yup, sometimes I play mind games with myself.

After 4o minutes of doing HIIT workout, I’m awake and I’m a completely different person. I’m happy and I feel like I can tackle the day ahead.

Breakfast

Target had $1 sale for Chobani yogurt and I jumped at the chance to stock up.

One of the 3 new flavors Chobani came out with recently is Black Cherry 0%.

Who needs cherries on top when they are on the bottom?

I tasted the yogurt first before I put all my toppings. This flavor is little sweeter than the Pineapple flavor (that’s my other favorite). There are chunks of cherries on the bottom, which was great because I love texture. Some of the flavors don’t have chunks of fruit in them, instead they have fruit jelly texture on the bottom.

There’s a fruit in this camouflage picture 🙂

Organic pears from Trader Joes. Oh so crunchy and sweet!

Never had pears and cherries in one bite before, but this was a good combo.

Then sprinkled with homemade Coconut Nuts Granola.

Good workout + good breakfast = great morning!!

Did you notice the explosion of colors in the pictures?

On our way home from San Diego this weekend, we stopped by the Outlet Mall in Carlsbad. I stopped by my usual fave stores, Banana Republic and Crate & Barrel outlets.

I picked up a few placemats and napkins that were on clearance for $2. And because I am me, I picked the busiest pattern and the brightest colors. What can I say, I just love them.

These were my finds at Banana Republic:

– Flat neutral flats (because they go with anything and super comfortable)

– Skinny belt (I love wearing belts with all the ruffle dresses I own, wearing a belt helps create a nice silhouette)

– Gold thin chain (Because I love accessories)

To help convince myself that I needed all these items and had to buy them, I have worn and used all of the above this week.

Do you shop at outlet malls?

I love shopping at outlet malls. Most of my suits and work clothes were purchased at outlet stores. I think I can do 30 days straight wearing outlet mall clothes.

Comments

  1. Love the chain! I’ve been looking for something like that. Oh and of course love the shoes as well 😉

No black cherry cho in this neck of the woods…yet

  2. It WAS cold this morning. I went out for a run this morning but then ran back in immediately when I felt how cold it was outside. I stretched for 5 mins and then went out again. It was still cold but I convinced myself that the sooner I get back, the sooner I can go inside where it was warm.

I love outlet shopping. Especially the Nike store.

  3. Love the new stuff! I do shop at outlet malls, but I don’t get to them nearly as often as I’d like to!

  4. hehe. I trick myself into the gym sometimes too 🙂 The black cherry is awesome! I’m also loving the kiddo flavors- especially the honey nana. The lemon chobani is a little too lemony for me though. CUTE flats. I love outlets

  5. Those shoes are SO CUTE!

  6. I’m SO jealous! I have been dreaming of having a C&B outlet here – I don’t know why we don’t. Stupid Atlanta. Great napkins and shoes – and nice job tricking yourself! 🙂

  7. I love the dryer idea. Nothing feels better than warm out of the dryer clothes.

  8. I live for outlet mall shopping. No matter where we end up on Spring Break my mom and I always hit the outlets. I’ve gotten a ton of great finds there!

  9. Annette (Defiant Vegan) says:

That yogurt looks so good and with cheeries love them had a big bowl of them raw yesterday. Yummmmy!

Also I haven’t been at the outlet in years maybe this summer I’ll hit the clearance rack and get some good deals.

Have a great day and your idea about putting them in the dryer is such a great idea. You mind me sharing that idea I’ll definitely give you credit?

    Hugs,

    A

    • Hi Annette,

Yes, of course, please do share.

The more tricks we have on getting motivated to go to the gym in the morning the better. Once my workout clothes are all warm fresh from the dryer, it feels so good against my skin.

Outlet malls are already discounted, but even more when you go on holiday weekend. Just a tip 🙂

  10. I love outlet malls. I pretty much purchase everything I own in the outlets.

  11. I love the Carlsbad outlets! I haven’t been there in a while, though.

I tried the black cherry Chobani a day or so ago and I really liked it! I didn’t realize that was one of the new flavors 🙂

  12. I love those flats! I’m totally 100% an outlet shopper. The ones near us are fantastic.

    • Which one do you go to? I love Cabazon, Carlsbad and sometimes Citadel outlets. I used to go to this one in San Diego too when I lived there, I think it’s the last exit before you hit the Mexico border.

  13. Hmmm, I love shopping at outlet malls and clearance racks. I love finding high quality items for low prices. 🙂 Your finds are ADORABLE!

  14. I really like outlet mall shopping. In fact, I am planning on browsing the outlets tomorrow. I pray I can find some cute clothes for cheap! So exciting when you get a great deal! 🙂 Love your new placemats & the flats! So cute!
