I have very exciting news at the end of the post I.AM.SO.EXCITED!!
My gym session this morning included 2 miles of warm-up on the treadmill. Afterwards, I completed 45 minutes of upper body strength training. I felt the burn today, so good.
Pancake Sunday was on today. I made my sweet potato protein pancakes.
I usually make them with whey protein but this morning, I tried it with Trader Joe’s Vanilla Soy Protein. The different protein powder changed the texture of the pancakes.
The pancakes were thinner, more like a very dense crepes.
It was good, just different. The good thing about them being thinner was that I had fun rolling them up and eating them as rolls.
I do prefer the fluffier pancakes so I’m going to be making these with whey protein moving forward.
Topped with maple syrup.
It was a perfect breakfast after a good workout session.
After church, my mom was craving noodles so we headed to a popular Chinese restaurant, Great Seafood Harbor, in Artesia.
Usually the restaurants in that area that are affordable and very crowded, has good food but normally a so-so service.
The table given to us was being used as food storage. What? Well, that’s the first. So we waited a few minutes while they cleared the table. We didn’t have any expectations from this place so we just went with it.
The fiance and I normally go to our usual dim sum place and order our usual food (you can see here and here).
My sister joined us for lunch and she suggested this place.
We don’t normally order these dishes, because we stick to our favorite, but it was good to try new dishes.
Fried shrimp, egg rolls and sweet buns filled with meat.
This dish is interesting. Chicken and mushroom filling, wrapped with taro.
A special order of chicken lo mein for my mom.
And my usual plate of chinese broccoli. I always order this plate when it’s available.
I had a taste of everything, except for the taro dish.
So now, me and my happy tummy are lounging on the couch watching the red carpet show for the Oscars.
I’m seeing a lot of beautiful red dresses thus far. My faves are Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock and Mila Kunis dresses.
Speaking of the Oscars, the Kodak Theatre where the Oscars is being held tonight seems so far away watching it on TV, but it will be oh-so-close tomorrow.
Guess who is going to Oprah’s After – Oscar Party?
Me, Me, Me!!!
I got an email yesterday saying I was chosen for the second release of tickets for the show.
Taping starts at 7am, so me and my guest (I’m bringing my mom) will be up really early and pretty ourselves to be camera ready.
Hope you had a fun weekend!
