Today we celebrated the fiance’s birthday. It’s just the beginning of many celebrations we will be doing throughout the week.
Happy Birthday Chris!!!
Birthday celebrations would not be as special without a trip to Disneyland. We spent a few hours at both Disney California Adventures and Disneyland park.
First things first when it’s your birthday, get the birthday button at guest services to announce to the world that it’s your birthday. Everyone will greet you. Try it!
After getting a fast pass for Soaring Over California ride (one of our favorites), we headed over to Mission Tortilla Factory for some free tortillas. If it’s your birthday, they give you a free bag of tortillas. Chris prefers their flour tortillas so he was a little disappointed that they were only making corn tortillas today.
Then we measured our weight in tortillas for fun.
Hers = 960 tortillas. His = 1920 tortillas.
So in the future if I say that I ate my weight in tortillas, you’ll know that I at least had 960 tortillas 🙂 Can you imagine?
It was a fun day at the park. We spent enough time to ride our favorite rides but not long enough to get stuck with the crowd.
Also, we had a celebrity sighting and saw Chelsea Staub. She was part of the Jona’s brothers show on the Disney Channel and will be on The Dancing with the stars show this season. I actually didn’t who she was, and we were just walking behind her while at the park when I noticed everyone was staring and all these kids were yelling “Chelsea!”. I had to google her to find information.
Dinner was right around the corner and we had a low key dinner at Claim Jumper restaurant.
Home of the Chocolate Motherlode Cake. Food Network’s “Top Five Most Decadent Dessert”. Holy motherlode is all I can say. We didn’t order it this time. Just looking at it gives me sugar coma.
For dinner I had the half rotisserie chicken, with baked potato and grilled veggies on the side.
With a huge blueberry muffin on the side.
The servings are huge at Claim Jumpers. I packed half of my entree and the 3/4 of the muffin to go.
The birthday boy was happy with his meal too. All of his food was free because it was his birthday.
During our birthdays, the celebrant picks everything we do for the whole day.
Because I gave him my cold, he wasn’t feeling too well to go snowboarding this morning. So the plan was to start the celebration in the afternoon. Disney –> Dinner – > DVD.
Don’t know what’s in store for tomorrow, but it will involve more celebration!
What a great way to kickoff the birthday celebration! You know I just ❤ Disney. That is so fun that you get free tortillas on your birthday. And how delicious does your dinner blueberry muffin look? Enjoy your weekend- happy birthday to the fiancee!
Birthday celebrations are the best! : ) Have fun with all your celebrating!!
Happy Birthday Chris! What a fab day you two had!
I sort of like the challenge of eating 960 tortillas — perhaps this should be one of my goals 😉
The most I’ve eaten was probably 6 or so and they were very filling. I can’t imagine eating 960 tortillas, my stomach would explode.
All the food looks amazingggg! Happy Birthday to your fiance 🙂
awwwwwwww love the birthday fun and the birthday pin ; )
Happy Birthday to Chris! I know you will have lots more fun in store for him too, even though just this was amazing enough from what I see : )
That cake is HUGE! Wow! I think I would be in a sugar coma just staring at it, lol!
Have a great day love! xoxo ❤
Thanks Katie. The cake is overwhelming, even if just looking at it. You will need a team of foodies to conquer that motherlode
Happy Birthday Chris!
That cake looks like the bomb.com. Can you do blogger mailings bahaha?
Hollie…ha ha, funny comment. I describe food and call them “the bomb” too. The pizza I had the night before was “the bomb”.
Happy Birthday Chris!!!!
Didn’t know Disneyland did that I’ll remember that. Cool.
Well glad you had time and that chocolate cake is so good when I was vegetarian. oh my do I remember the richness, I do say I miss Chocolate Cake.
I’ve made a vegan one for my daughter and she loved it it was a hit with her dad and all.
😛
Glad you had fun..
Happy bday mr. coconut-fiance! 🙂 It looks like you guys had a fun celebration!
I love Disneyland birthdays. We almost always go for one of our birthdays if we can. Too bad they didn’t have Chris’s favorite kind of tortilla!
LOVE the weight in tortillas – how cute! Looks like a fun birthday celebration!
What a fun birthday!! I want more than anything to go to Disney World for my birthday next week. Sadly, I will be unable to do that but I can dream 🙂 Love Disney!
