Green Flowers

I was surrounded by the color green today because of St. Patty’s Day.

After a night out with friends last night and eating sweets throughout the day, I woke up with no energy and skipped my morning workout.

However, I saw these beauties on the dining table and it immediately added joy to my day. Breakfast was eaten around these flowers.

I fit in my workout during lunch time. It was hard. There’s a reason why I try to get my workout done in the morning, working out in the middle of the day or in the evenings are really hard for me.

After 3o minutes on the treadmill, I ran several miles and was really happy with my effort.

Later on the day, we had plans for dinner to continue celebrating the fiance’s birthday. We celebrated all week.

Since I didn’t wear green all day, I had to rely on picnik to do it’s trick.

We had a great time at dinner with friends. I can’t wait to spend more time with them in Puerto Vallarta for the wedding.

I really loved the strawberry flowers served with the birthday cake, complimentary from the restaurant.

Wedding Project – DIY #1

I have been working on a few Do-It-Yourself projects in the last few weeks. Now that I have a final count of our guest list, I am able to finalize a few things that were pending for awhile.

One project has been completed and it was delivered today. It feels good to have few things marked off my list nowIMG_4600IMG_4601

Did you wear green on St. Patty’s Day? Did you celebrate?

I think the last time I celebrated was during my college years in San Diego. I wore beads, I wore green, and drank green drinks.

  1. I much prefer getting my workouts in, in the morning as well! I used to teach a couple nights during the week and having the energy to get through those classes was always tough. I’m hoping after I have the baby to stick to only teaching in the morning. The flowers are gorgeous (both the real and the strawberry flowers). I didn’t wear green yesterday- whooops

    • I hope you get the morning schedule too. I noticed too at my gym that the morning instructors are much more energetic than the evening ones.

I said the same thing yesterday too, because I didn’t wear green “whoops”.

  2. I wore green on St. Patrick’s Day, just because I was going into the high school classroom for observation.

I love crossing things off my to do list. It always feels great and makes me so happy.

  3. I wore green! 🙂

I totally agree with you in getting the workouts in – in the morning. It’s out of the way and you’re outlook is just better when that happens!

Happy belated to your fiance! Looks like you had a good time at the restaurant!

  4. I did wear green yesterday. I celebrated by drinking a Guinness with dinner that I made (corned beef and cabbage)! That strawberry flower is beautiful!!!

    Hi Lea,

I did celebrate it but in a unique kind of way. I didn’t wear green as it’s not my fav. color I think I have 1 blouse green and I didn’t wear it.

What I did was I ate Raw Green all day.

Breakfast: Superfood smoothie with apple, hemp seed, superfood (spirulina, etc.) mint and cucumber

AM Snack: Raw Cucumber, Bell Pepper & Jalapeno Soup
Lunch: Spinach, Pear, Avocado, Pumpkin Seed, Garlic & Lime Salad

PM Snack: Raw Green Apple Crumble Pie

Dinner: Rawsagna: Zucchini, Pumpkin Seed, Garlic, Cilantro, Cold Pressed Extra Virgen Olive Oil, Himalayan Salt & Pepper

I had fun doing it as it was a great challenge.

Happy to see you enjoyed yourself during your festivities with friends.

    Awesome!

    • Oh wow Annette, what a fun day eating all greens. I think if I had planned it ahead of time, I might have been able to do the same. Your food sounds delicious and that fact that they were green is just the cherry on top. Great job!

Btw, what brand do you recommend for spirulina?

      • Annette (Defiant Vegan) says:

        Hi Lea,

I only recommend one brand and it’s a private line I’m so into his products as he’s a Master Herbalist and Herbal Pharmacist, a doctorate in Natural Medicine, he has three degrees in Iridology and eight certifications in various styles of body therapy.

The product is called Superfood Plus in powder form.

He also has a Nutritional bar that has 2Tbs. of his Superfood Plus Powder and the bar is raw I love it when I’m on the go and I need something to replace a meal or I eat it as the mid. snack for a.m. or p.m.

The awesome thing about this product is it goes through your system in 15 minutes you notice, great for the afternoon slump.

If you do decide to buy it I hope you like I certainly do and I bet my life on it.

  6. bahahaha I love the hat and pot of gold 😉 That literally made me laugh out loud!

  7. Yup, I wore green! Though my friends called it “puke” green! It was an olive color. We did happy hour at a bar called Lucky Bar and then indulged on burgers after – I figured since it was a holiday and I rarely eat burgers, I might as well splurge!

    • Hey, I love olive green. I think men are the only ones that call it puke.

Awww, bar & burgers…those were the good ole days for me. Well, more like bars & carne asada fries here in SoCal.

  8. if i move to cali, we’re sharing closets, ok?

  9. Wow, those flowers are amazing!
I celebrated a little at home, but nothing too crazy. I did find some green beads in our hallway this morning so someone in the building had a good time… hehe!

  10. Haha, I only wore green for like half the day. But I did go out and look for Four Leaf Clovers! 😀

    xoxo
