Fun (Random) Facts Friday

I seem to have moments of scatter brain on Fridays more than any other days during the week. That’s probably because whenever Friday rolls around,  I get so excited for the weekend that it’s hard to focus on one thing.

So today, I will post some random things about everything and anything.

– I took this picture at the OC Marketplace this weekend and it made me want to take a vacation right away, like right now. It also made me day dream about my previous vacations.

– I have been admiring beautiful sunsets this week on my drive home from work. Watching the sunset never gets old to me.

– I have been eating mangoes all week. I try not to eat them as is, I have to cut and make them pretty first because it’s fun to eat them that way.

– I get excited about clothes, A LOT! I opened the boxes that stored my spring and summer clothes this week. I am looking forward to wearing these fun dresses sometime soon. These are a few of my go-to  fun, girly summer dresses.

Stefanie's Wedding - 2008

– It has been a warm week, so cold, fruity and refreshing wine was my beverage of choice when dining out with friends this week.

– My friend Alicia baked some mini red velvet cupcakes. She got the recipe from Paula Deen. These were little pockets of heaven. Oh my!

– I made mini versions of the Banana Chocolate Muffins I baked earlier this week. I used the same banana batter, but changed the toppings. I added coconut flakes and unsweetened Baker’s chocolate in the mix instead. I baked it for 12 mins.

I must say that I like these better than the original version.

I have been eating coconut + banana + unsweetened chocolate with my oatmeal these days.

This would be the muffin version of that bowl.

Comments

  1. Lovely Lea, we must go shopping sometime together!

  2. Oh and I have tons of pics from Kauai and Oahu if you want ’em!

    • Ok thanks. If you didn’t submit, I was going to steal one picture from your blog and surprise you, lol! Should I just pick a picture or do you want to send me your favorite?

  3. My parents actually got married in Hawaii so technically I was there…I guess but anyways.

Your tropical fruit always makes me so jealous!

    • Hawaii weddings are so romantic 🙂 I almost chose Hawaii for our wedding since we love it so much.

I think in my past life I was a hippy that lived in the tropics. I am always gravitate to anything tropical, thus the love for coconut too.

  4. I get excited over clothes too! lol! love it! U look beautiful in all those pics! Oh you know Mike and I will be in maui for our honeymoon in june! But that might be too late for photos then right? Have a great weekend! xoxo

  5. I only recently learned how to chop a mango like that, ha. It was very helpful and easier than my attempts at eating one before 😉

    Have a great weekend!!

  6. Bianca @ Confessions of a Chocoholic says:

I’ve been having coconut, shaved chocolate and mashed banana with my oats too – I love it because I feel like I’m eating dessert for breakfast! And I am totally obsessed over clothes too. Actually I take that back, I am more obsessed with shoes! 🙂

  7. I can’t wait for spring clothes! I’ve been slowly breaking into them….but when I’m wearing them 24/7- I’ll be SO excited. Dresses are very bump friendly ;). And aren’t mini muffins the best? I swear I never make full sized muffins any more.

    • I know what you mean about dresses being very bump friendly, my sister didn’t buy any maternity clothes the whole time she was pregnant (except for her scrubs that she wore to work), she wore a lot of her pre-pregnancy dresses and stretchy leggings.

I like mini muffins for it’s built in portion control and they’re cute.

  8. I’m so excited about spring clothes, too! I mean, I always wear cardigan sweaters no matter what, but I am excited for cute skirts and tanks and shoes. 🙂
I’m on a pseudo spring break this weekend, and it’s been so nice to be home!

    • Enjoy your Spring Break Emily. Now that I don’t have summer breaks or spring breaks anymore, I wish I had taken advantage of it when I was still in school.

I wear cardigan all the time too, the difference in the summer are the colors of my cardigan, it gets brighter

  9. I love mango! That looks so good and fresh 🙂

  10. The Teenage Taste says:

Lately, I’ve been eating a mango almost everyday! I love them! 🙂

  11. I love clothes too! 😉 It is so much fun to find the perfect dress for an occasion! 😀

    xoxo

  12. Annette (Defiant Vegan) says:

Those mini muffins look so delicious.

I haven’t brought out all my Spring clothes maybe 1 thing but I do have a few spring coats that are like a Taupe in color that are so sweet.

I also purchased this cute blouse from http://www.bodyc.com/products/floral-sublimation-smocked-hem/

It’s beautiful this place is dirt cheap and it’s not the best quality but you can have a few items that are low cost but can make you look like million bucks and they are the cutest.

It’s time to start digging in my Spring clothing box.

    Happy 1st day of Spring!!!

    • Annette, great minds think alike 🙂 I already shop at that online store. So funny that you sent me the link.

The multi colored pink hue dress that I posted on this post, is from there. I love their prices and how stylish their products can be. I agree about the quality, I mean it’s not Nordstrom quality but I take really good care of my clothes anyways, so it’s not an issue for me if the quality is not too great.
