Operation tropical therapy has begun. Our vacation and wedding celebration is finally here, we leave for Mexico tomorrow morning.
I’m starting to get that vacation itch, so close. Yesterday, Chris and I enjoyed our day out and about picking up some items for the wedding.
It was a beautiful day in SoCal, but even more beautiful spending it at Huntington Beach shopping.
First up, finalizing Chris’s outfit for the wedding. Can you guess who picked his tie selection?
He also bought his dressy sandals to wear for the wedding.
I am planning to wear wedge shoes during the ceremony because I will be coming down some stairs, then heels for the reception and go barefoot while partying on the sand afterwards. I’ll wear a pretty sandal during our Trash The Dress session the next day. I told Chris my plan and I think I lost him after the wedge shoes part 🙂
Then we went to the bookstore to pick up some summer reading material.
While I hovered around healthy living and cookbook section, Chris was on a mission to find Adam Carolla’s book.
The party edition of our fun wedding ceremony reading.
Next stop, my favorite arts and crafts store, Michael’s. We bought several things, including a tie/ribbon to hold the rings.
My engagement ring and my matching wedding band.
Chris’s wedding band was designed by him and was custom made by a local jeweler. He wanted something very special, like an heirloom ring that would tell a story. It took a while but he found a ring maker who made exactly what he was looking for. Hopefully it will be something that he could pass down to our family over generations of freedivers. The four images are his family crest, a freediver, a shark, and a tuna. It’s also engraved inside with our wedding date.
Our next stop was food, we were hungry.
We ate at Soup Plantation and had our usual plates of salad.
The highlight was the freshly baked cookies delivered to our table. How special 🙂
His and hers desserts.
His. Several scoops of chocolate lava cake with an ice cream tower.
Hers. A side of the same chocolate cake + praline pecan cake topped with soft serve ice cream.
We ended our day spending time with this little guy. He is such a happy baby, his smile will melt any stress away.
Today, I am spending time at the nails spa with my mom and sister.
When I was little, I used to count days by the number of sleeps. One more sleep and we are in Mexico.
Stay tune for tomorrow’s scheduled post for a fun recipe book giveaway.
Enjoy!
That’s is so awesome the rings being passed down love the idea of having something custom made there is nothing that can top that.
I am so excited for you I can just taste it for myself. ;P
I hope you can sleep tonight because I don’t think I would be able to because of the excitement.
enjoy your flight tomorrow and best wishes.
Hugs,
Annette (DV)
