Hello Healthy Coconut readers!! My name is Erica and I blog over at Itzy’s Kitchen.
I have been blogging for over three years now and love to share my passion for all things food & fitness. I live in The Charleston, SC area and am married to my college sweetheart, Josh.
I have an English bulldog named Frank
and am due with our first baby in July. Outside my day job as an engineer/cost analyst, I work as a group fitness instructor and teach Body Pump, Body Step and Body Attack.
One of the best things about living in Charleston is all of the amazing restaurants! We are constantly trying new places, but have a few that we love and frequent often.
Here is just a taste of some of those restaurants:
For a fancy meal, our favorite spot is Grill 225 in Charleston. It is definitely on the pricey side, but worth every penny. I’m not big into steak, but I love their pasta dish and can’t get enough of their amazing bread basket.
There is also a restaurant group in the Charleston area called Dine with Sal. All of Sal’s restaurants are fabulous, but our two favorites are Mustard Seed and Sette. My favorite thing about Sal’s restaurants? Their salads…especially when they come with encrusted goat cheese:
Crave in Mount Pleasant has a great wine bar and menu filled with locally produced items. My favorite menu item at Crave is their fancy grilled cheese. Drool worthy!
For Brunch, my go to is Charleston’s Café!! Located in a random shopping center, you could easily drive by this restaurant without knowing it’s there. On the weekend, there is ALWAYS a wait. I love their parfaits.
I am just dusting the surface!! Here are a few more recommendations:
Brunch:
Sea Biscuit (IoP) – (NOTE: cash only)
Southern:
Huck’s (IoP)
Hominy Grill (Charleston)
Jestine’s Kitchen (Charleston)
Poogan’s Porch (Charleston)
BBQ:
Home Team BBQ (Sullivan’s Island)
Unique:
Poe’s (Sullivan’s Island)- this place can get PACKED.
Jack’s Cosmic Dogs (Mount Pleasant)- was on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.
Pub Food/American/Seafood:
King Street Grille (Mount Pleasant & Downtown)
Magnolias (Charleston)
