As I write this post, I have “Somewhere over the Rainbow” by Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwoʻole playing in the background. It brings me back to the exact moment as I walked down the aisle beach.
Since Chris and I already had our first look and our moment together before our walk down the aisle, we were able to focused on our families and friends waiting for us.
Chris and his mom walked down the steps first while Canon in D played in the background.
My super-adorable-chubby-cheeks niece Jazzy was our flower girl and she followed right after.
She slowly and patiently walked down each steps on her own. I’m so proud.
She carried a big basket of petals and held on to it very tightly. She dropped one petal. One and only precious petal 🙂 I’m so proud.
On a side note: after the ceremony was over, she happily showered the sand with her flowers.
My sister Berna was my Maid of Honor. She looked so radiant and she glowed that day.
She just had her baby a month prior and was I so happy that she was still able to be there on our wedding day.
I loved her dress too. It was so light and perfect for an ocean wedding.
Then it was my turn.
I chose “Somewhere over the Rainbow” for my walk down the aisle because it’s one of my favorite song. It’s calming, it’s beachy and it just fit the moment.
I got emotional right when I saw my dad waiting for me. Growing up, I was close to my dad and it was a special moment. I was proud to be his daughter and to have him by my side.
We were surrounded by smiling faces and to be joined by our family and friends, it was such a happy feeling.
I wanted to freeze that moment. The moment where I was in the middle of the aisle and wanted to take it all in. I was filled with joy and so grateful to have so much love around us.
Then I looked at Chris, smiling and waiting for me.
It felt like I couldn’t walk fast enough to get to him.
“Being assured for your love as lifelong companions and that you have your families blessings, I now ask, who give this woman to be married to this man?”
We are here today to participate in a most joyous occasion; to celebrate one of the greatest moments in life, by acknowledging the wedding of Lea and Chris.
Today Lea and Chris you proclaim your love to the world, and our joy and thoughts are with you.
Before Family and Friends, Lea and Chris are stating publicly, the
feelings, and commitments they have held privately between them. They are proclaiming your love for, their
trust in and their loyalty to the one they cherish above all others.
To be continued….
