I am the oldest of four girls.
I love my sisters and wanted each one of them to be part of the wedding.
My sister Berna was my maid of honor and my sisters Hazel and Janell did a reading during the ceremony.
Hazel read a poem.
When two people join together
and bond their lives forever
because they are certain they have something special
that will make their commitment last…
this is the first act of faith. Upon this act of faith these two people will build a life.
and as long as their determination stays with them
this life will always be their hope, their dreams, their truth, their being, their inspiration,
and their source of strength.
Through their life together, they will hurt and laugh.
Together they will feel all of life’s up and downs.
They will learn and grow through trial and error.
The lessons will show them the meaning of true love
And the difference between a love that lasts
and one that just gives up.
These two people will face each failure together and
discover the strength to go on.
They will encourage each other’s dreams and forgive each other’s faults.
Through a labour of love.
these two will become as one,
fighting against the odds and ultimately creating
a commitment that will grow into an infinite love.
We had two readings during the ceremony. Janell read the second one. She read “Oh the Places You’ll Go – by Dr Seuss“.
Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!

As the older sister, I feel very protective of each one of them. I see a little piece of me in each one of them. Growing up, we shared bunk beds & clothes, we all went to the same school and as usual, fought over things that sisters fight about.
I was really touched when all of my sisters made a speech during the reception.
It was a surprise.
I couldn’t help but remember many childhood memories.
People say we all look different and we definitely have our own personalities, but we share a lot of similar traits.
I’m proud of who they are and what they have become.
I was one very very proud older sister.
To be continued….
You guys are so gorgeous. Love that they all gave a toast!!
That is so awesome to have each one of your sisters say a speech that you will remember forever and grow with each word.
Awe, this is so sweet. There is nothing like the bond between sisters. Beautiful post. 🙂
I love this post! I like that you each of your sisters had a special part in your wedding. You can just tell how close you are with your sisters and I love that. Your ceremony looked absolutely beautiful! I love that you had a Dr. Seuss poem read during your ceremony. 🙂
