We are enjoying the last days of summer by firing up the grill for dinner. A relaxing and great start to the holiday weekend.
I love this plate. It reminds me of time spent in paradise.
My task was easy. I prepped the vegetables.
I coated them with garlic oil, salt, pepper, liquid smoke and smoked paprika. Simple ingredients = plenty of flavor. Lots of smoky flavor in there too.
The husband, the grill master at work. We always have fresh fish around. My favorite way to eat cook it is grilled. Chris seasoned the fresh fish with Italian dressing and Lawry’s seasoned salt.
We bought these metal skewers awhile back but just got around to using it. I love it so far. It doesn’t create a mess and makes for easier grilling.
After hanging out in the backyard and tending to my garden, dinner was ready and it was time to head back inside.
My grilled supper. Grilled fish and vegetables, steamed green beans topped with sauce and quinoa.
Chris had sashimi, brown rice and grilled vegetables. Chris has had a great fishing season, so our freezer (and tummy) are always full with fish.
Dessert after dinner is dark chocolate cookie.
…and a huge cup of coconut herbal tea and decaf green tea.
I’m off to relax for the night.
I’m looking forward to this weekend. Fun plans with friends with spending time with family celebrating my sister’s graduation.
I am excited to see my niece Jazzy and my nephew Jonah.
Have a great holiday weekend 🙂
