It’s a proud day for my family.
My younger sister is now a licensed Dental Hygienist.
I walked in the door to her graduation festivities and was greeted with colorful cupcakes. Free desserts at a graduation? Her school is great. I think that it is ironic they offer sweet offerings during a dental event.
I ate one and decided it wasn’t going to keep me full so I grabbed my emergency snack stash in my purse. Larabar and bottled water to hold me over.
It was an intimate (only 20+ graduates) but crowded affair. Standing room only if you got there late.
My niece was in her best behavior, waiting for her mommy to walked down the stage.
A 3 year old toddler can only stay still for so long, so I kept her occupied and gave her my phone as a distraction.
After many presentations, videos and awards….it was my sister’s turn to receive her certificate. Strut your stuff sister. I’m so proud of her and what she has accomplished.
Family portraits with the new grad.
I mentioned to my sister that her graduation was unlike any graduation I’ve ever been to. Their attires, the colors…it was all different, but in a fun way. It reminded me of when I crossed over after pledging for my sorority during freshman year in college.
Congratulations to the new Dental Hygiene Graduates!!
We continued our celebration and headed out to a Chinese buffet restaurant in the area called VIP Restaurant. I filled my plate with vegetables, sushi, egg rolls, tofu, noodles and salmon.
I also had Pho soup on the side without meat. The intoxicating smell of fresh cilantro in the soup always make me crave this dish.
My family, including aunts, uncles, cousins and the babies all came to celebrate. I was especially excited to see this little guy, my nephew Jonah. I missed him so much.
Everyone else wanted to hangout with him too.
After being passed around, he finally landed on my dad’s lap and fell asleep. My dad has the magic touch when it comes to getting babies to nap. I’ll remember that when I have my own kids.
It was another fun day celebrating with family. We have a lot of celebrations and events in the coming months so I’m excited that I will be seeing them again so soon.
It’s tiring being a cute baby and being passed around everywhere. Jonah should know.
Congrats again to my sister 🙂
Congrats to your sister!!!
How beautiful! Congrats to your sis 🙂 Where did she go to school?
Thank you. My sister went to Western, a private school here in Orange County, the campus is close to Disneyland.
Congrats to your sister! How beautiful she is, you both look alike very much! Two beauties!
The cupcakes look wonderful! Did the frosting stain your lips and mouth?! I have had cupcakes with bright frosting like that, and it did for me, lol!
Happy Sunday! xoxo ❤
Thanks Katie. A lot of people do comment that we look alike, that’s why too my niece can pass as my own daughter whenever I am with her 🙂
YES, those blue and purple icing stained my tongue and lips, that’s why I stopped eating after one. I think I’ll stick to white vanilla frosting from now on, lol
Ditto on the congratulations! Those cupcakes look SO good!
Look at all of those family pics – I love it! and at first I was like she graduated from LSU?! Hello, Kelly, other schools have these colors. 🙂 And SO funny – my dentist sends $5 gift cards to Starbucks when you refer someone. In fact, I’d referred 3 people so I had $15 – MY DENTIST got me hooked on skinny vanilla lattes. True story!
I love the story Kelly, that’s funny. I think I remember my dentist having a bowl of candy offering during holiday season too. That’s cool that your dentist gives you cool incentive for referrals, it’s better that you get Starbucks card than be given free tooth brushed for referrals right?
Congrats to your sister! She looked beautiful! I love the colors of the graduation! It looked so colorful and cheerful! 🙂 Your neice and nephew are too cute!
Congrats to your sister! What an awesome feeling that must be.
and the Irony to serve cupcakes but every once in awhile it’s ok to enjoy the sugar pleasures of life.
You Niece is so adorable and boy your nephew is getting big – he’s so cute!
Those cupcakes and soup look great! It is rather funny a dental graduation is serving cupcakes! : )
Congrats to your sister! You niece is utterly adorable!
Conrats to your sister! Those cupcakes make me drool. Such a pretty graduation!
