My nephew Jonah is now a 1-year-old big boy. He had a party and we celebrated Sesame Street style.
The birthday boy was in a celebratory mood. Look at how happy he looks here 🙂
We all signed a huge birthday card for him….something he can read and enjoy once he is old enough to read.
For this joyous occasion, I made Sesame Street themed treats in cupcake form.
Here are some Elmo cupcakes
Cookie Monster made an appearance too.
Here’s a picture of the whole she-bang! I was so happy that the cupcakes turned out really cute and everyone loved them, especially the kids.
My niece and I enjoyed a cupcake before all the guests arrived.
My niece helped me set-up the cupcake display, and by helping, she meant eating them.
It was a sunny day at the park and we enjoyed spending it outdoors with friends and family.
We had traditional filipino food dishes and also typical birthday party dishes.
Noodles
My favorites were egg rolls (lumpia) and an eggplant and tofu dish.
My plate included vegetable dishes, noodles, egg rolls and fried shrimp cake.
Also made sure to save room for the birthday cake
and these delicious rice balls for dessert.
It tasted like mochi but with a crunchy texture on the outside. I thought I’d stop after one serving but I just kept going back for more.
We also had a caricature station at the party. So in between munchies, we would take turns sitting and posing.
She was really talented and only took 5 minutes to complete her drawing. That’s amazing!
My sister and I wanted to do ours together. I think it looks like us, don’t you think?
Fun times.
Happy Birthday Jonah!!! We love you 🙂

Thanks Kathleen. My nephew loves Sesame Street too, especially his tickle me Elmo toy.
Your niece and nephew are adorable! Mmm… look at all that food! Yum! I spy palabok! 😉 Don’t you feel that it’s not a party without lumpia? Or maybe it’s just me? Ha. Happy 1st b-day to your nephew!
Thanks. Palabok and pancit and lumpia….I agree, a party is not complete without them.
Aww!! Your nephew got so big! I can’t believe he is a year already! I remember when you posted pictures of him when he was baby. He is so cute 🙂

Thanks, they were a ton of fun to make. A year has gone by so fast, I really can’t believe it, it was just yesterday when he was born.
