Yesterday was officially the first day of summer according to the calendar, but for me, summer around here starts Memorial Day weekend.
I have a summer bucket list that I want to do this year, the list is in my head, and it’s not too long since we have the baby and are limited with our travels and other fun summer things to do like camping. This summer is going to be even more special with the baby, we get to experience the simple things with him.
One of the things I want to do this summer is to eat more outdoors. We have wonderful weather in SoCal and sometimes we take it for granted.
Last week, we met with friends at Downtown Disney and dined al fresco at Jazz Kitchen. We enjoyed watching the crowd, listening to live bands and watching the fireworks from Disneyland. It was a relaxing and fun night.
Cher and I shared our meals. she got the jambalaya and I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. I brought cookies for all of us to share.
On Father’s Day weekend, we celebrated with Chris’s family, including grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins. We had dinner at Black Angus restaurant. Hawke did great and happily sat on my lap or played in his car seat during dinner but we stayed out way past his bedtime and he became fussy so we took our dessert to go.
I made a picture collage for Chris. Hawke loves his daddy.
We also sent pictures to both Grandpas and created footprint arts for daddy’s card.
I baked Chris’s favorite cookies, Cranberry White chocolate oatmeal cookies and he enjoyed it along with our homemade cards.
This week we had our quarterly luncheon at work and to celebrate summer, we had a BBQ. I enjoyed the BBQ chicken and lots of guacamole, along with apple pie + ice cream.
Other things around here…..I went to Sephora while we were at Downtown Disney and saw that the OPI nail polish were on sale for half off, I was sold on the glitter bottles. Low maintenance and beautiful to look at it. Not sure if it’s appropriate for work though, but it was nice to try it on.
Chris’s article and pictures were published on a diving magazine. I’m so proud of him. I’m going to frame all of his magazine features (he has a few) and hang it in his office.
And whenever I can…..I love cuddling with my little guy, because I miss him soooooo much when I’m at work. He is smiling so much more, rolling over during tummy time and just so fun to be around because he can interact with us now and doing his baby talks.
