seeking adventures

ventura

I do a lot of thinking in my car during my commute to work. I thought one day that I need to intentionally seek out adventures. I need to plan ahead, need to plan fun trips and need to take some time off.

I am ready to take on new adventures. Actually, I’ve been ready but I have trouble peeling myself from my work. So this summer, I am choosing to take time off, even if it’s just for a 3 day weekend road trip, and enjoy myself.

I work in the travel industry, so I get really great discounts so it’s a shame that I don’t take advantage of it more often.  I’m also excited that my mom is back from being out of the country and is here to stay for several months before she leaves again.

Ojai

So here goes my first adventures of many, a road trip along the coast to visit Ventura, Santa Barbara and Ojai. All coastal cities. Beautiful cities and show case California at its finest.

– we stayed at Marriott Ventura

– drove to Ojai and walked along main street and visited Bart’s bookstore (so cool to see an outdoor bookstore)

– drove to Santa Barbara, watched the sail boats, walked along State Street and hung out on the Stearns Wharf

– At the hotel pool by 8am

– checked out CA Strawberry Festival, ate the sweetest strawberries ever, danced while watching a live band, and spent to much time at the build-your-own strawberry shortcake

  2. This sounds fantastic. I truly believe that life is about finding balance. Whatever that might mean for you.
