We got our tree this year about 2 weeks before Christmas. Little man enjoyed helping out this year and running around all the trees.
Here it is, in all it’s decorated glory!
We picked a smaller this year because our little man is much more mobile and likes to climb and jump on things. So far, we’ve only had a few ornaments break and the tree survived the season. We need to use shatter proof ornaments moving forward, or at least the bottom half.
A week before Christmas, we hosted our annual house party with all the hubby’s co-workers and friends. I baked some treats, sugar cookie cups, graham cracker toffee crack, and peppermint chocolate bars.
Every year we wonder how we are going to fit everyone, but every year we make it happen 🙂
A few days before Christmas, I made sure to slow down a bit, to savor the season and really think about what it means this year for us as a family.
My way of relaxing is to be in the kitchen, and bake and make little treats for teachers, co-workers, friends and family.
On Christmas eve, it was wear your pajamas, watch Christmas movies and drink hot chocolate day.
We had a quiet night Christmas eve and I helped Santa wrap more presents for the little man. On Christmas morning, I woke up early to make blueberry oatmeal bake. After breakfast, we opened our presents.
One of my favorite gift wrapping this season was a book given to me by Irene, she included a personal picture from Instagram and added it to the gift. Loved it!
After the whole family took a long nap, we headed out to a family party for a late lunch.
We ate a lot of Mexican dishes, included tamales and also the hubby made lobster teriyaki pasta.
The day after Christmas, our little man opened more of his gifts.
I was busy in the kitchen getting ready for our dinner party that evening with my side of the family.
And just like that, Christmas is over. We still have the tree up so I like to sit next to it every night and admiring it before we put it away next week.
We had a wonderful Christmas filled with joy, food and family events. I hope you had a joyful holiday season!!!
SO much delicious food! I want all of your desserts 🙂 Glad the little man had a great Christmas!
