concert at the zoo

I don’t remember the last time I used my big DSLR camera. I didn’t even bring it on our last family vacation. I want to use it more often though and I thought of the excuses I had that was preventing me from grabbing it….and the biggest gripe I had was that it was too big and bulky and wasn’t going to fit in my purse.

Well, I bought a large tote bag recently (to use mainly on the weekend) and put it to use as a purse/camera bag when we went on our recent outing to the zoo. I’m so glad I took my big camera with me because it was a great place to take tons of fun pictures.

I need to put my camera in the right setting to capture moving toddlers. It’s so hard to capture my little guy running (he is always running) and I find the pictures come out blurry. I have a lot to learn with subjects in constant motion. The lens I was using on this day, is the lens I typically use for portraits…so that might be part of the problem? I just remembered that the last time I used my DSLR camera was in May, when I took graduation pictures of my youngest sister.

Anyways, it was a great evening spent at the zoo. Below are my favorites pictures:

  1. I agree about the camera – my iPhone has made me lazy because the quality is quite good.
