The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
This book has been on my to-be-read list for a long long time, since I’ve watched the movie in 2009. I loved the story then and love it even more after reading the book.
Even though I already knew the plot, I still had tears while listening to the audio book.
This is a beautiful love story, set in beautiful settings and a span of 20+ years. It’s a long book worth savoring. I thought I would be confused with the timeline going back and forth but it was actually easy to follow. I stayed up many late nights because I couldn’t stop listening to the audiobook. I loved the way the narrative switched between Henry’s and Clare’s perspectives. I loved the way it moved around in time, so that events would come together later.
There is some science fiction in the story and I found that part interesting, but the heart of this book is about the couple. It’s a good plot and I realized that everything happening in the story seemed fated and the story comes full circle.

Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple
When Bernadette disappears, her daughter is convinced Bernadette just wouldn’t go without a good reason. She’s the one who pieces everything together but not before the reader is taken on a journey to learn what exactly drove Bernadette to leave.
This is a fast paced book with a lot of humor in it. I enjoyed reading the adventures and reading about this quirky life. I don’t know anyone personally that lives like Bernadette (but I can sympathize with her), or know someone that lives in Seattle but I still found the description funny. The format of the book is a series of emails, letters and funny commentary. Cute and funny read.
