Our weekend has been a little busy. There are a lot of errands and housework to be done before we leave for our honeymoon.
I’m scrubbing and wiping every thing in our kitchen. I want to come home to a clean kitchen when we return. Chris and I both spend a lot of time in the kitchen and seeing it clean every time I walk in, makes me happy.
Bright flowers always make me happy. These are from our front yard. I finally had the chance to bring some roses inside and put them on a vase. Pink and orange were the wedding colors, so this vase has been a constant reminder.
And we missed our friends, so we made time to socialize too. We went out with friends and watched the movie “The Hangover Part II“. It was very funny and we laughed out loud so many times. If you loved the first movie, you will like the current movie also. I also loved watching the beach scenes in the movie, because we are heading to a similar place for our honeymoon.
This weekend, we also enjoyed his and hers pizookie. Cookies and Cream pizookie for Chris and red velvet pizookie for me.
We invited my mom and my sister to dinner. We wanted to thank them for all the help throughout the wedding planning.
Our dinner food was ok, but we all enjoyed our desserts. Pizookie, cookie in a pizza pan. It’s not pizza pizza, it’s pizookie pizookie.
I enjoyed a few bites of each to try them out. So sweet.
My mom and my sista. It was great catching up and all we did was talk about the wedding.
Our tradition of pancake Sunday continued today.
Kodiak pancakes with chocolate coconut butter Cacao Bliss, chia seeds and coconut flakes.
Cacao = bliss.
Welcome home, I heard the pancakes say 🙂
I also baked and made a batch of oaties this weekend.
Tropical oaties to be exact. I’ve made Heather’s oaties before, but with pomegranate (POM, chocolate & nut oaties). I wanted to change it up and use tropical fruits this time around.
I used cashew nut butter and added plenty of dried tropical fruits in the mix.
Dried mangoes, papaya and plenty of pineapple.
I was planning on mailing these out to a friend, but I could not stop at one sample and ended up eating half the batch. I’m going to make more tonight so that my goodie package doesn’t look like it has been attacked and half empty.
I need to ship these out asap before they make it into my mouth. Oh so good.
What is your favorite dessert at a restaurant?
Pizookie is one of my favorites, along with cheesecakes from Cheesecake Factory. I just googled the recipe for pizookies and I found them here.
Your kitchen is GORGEOUS! I always fully clean my house before leaving for vacation. There is nothing like coming home to a clean house (makes the return from vaca that much easier). mmm pizokie! I’ve never heard of this. i want to try one. I’ve had Heather’s oaties on my to make list forever ever now. Need to get on that. Favorite dessert at a restaurant? Any type of fruit crisp/crumble.
I must find one of these pizookies…nom 😛
Have a blast on your honeymoon lovely!
Ahhh soo much delicious stuff! That Pizookie looks SO good!!! I’ve never seen anything like that!
Pizookies are SO GOOD! I can’t wait to eat yummy desserts like that in Hawaii!! I am so excited you leave for your honeymoon! I bet you guys are so excited!
I am in LOVE with your kitchen!
Your mom and sister are adorable!!!!!!!
Have a great night! love you!!!!
i’ve never had a pizookie but i JUST had cheesecake from the cheesecake factory for the first time tonight and it was divine.
Your kitchen is so beautiful! I hope one day that my kitchen will look like that! 🙂 I’ve never heard of a pizookie before! It looks really good!!! I need to try one! 🙂
Your family is too cute. Your mom reminds me a lot of mine. 🙂
Those pizookies look insanely delicious. I would have to agree with the cheesecakes at Cheesecake Factory, at least as my fave chain restaurant dessert. There’s a restaurant here in DC called CoCo Sala and desserts are totally their forte – you get a plate with 3 small desserts made of the best chocolate by excellent pastry chefs. It’s so worth the bulge after.
I think we should start a new tradition: Pizookie Sunday. Hmm, I feel a HEABfied experiment coming on. How about Oatie Pizookies?!? Me thinks it’s time to shut down the computer and head to the kitchen. 😉
PS I cannot stand to leave the house in disarray before leaving on a trip. Everything must be spotless as it is so nice to come home to a clean house.
PPS Your mom and sister are so cute. 🙂
Those Pizookies sound so delicious! Yummmy would like the chocolate one.
I really don’t have a specific dessert that I like as long as I have a type of desert I’m satisfied.
I have tried the vegan chocolate cake from Urth Cafe and it’s so decadent and rich that you need something warm to melt the chocolate down. I’m due for slice of vegan chocolate cake soon.
I still have yet to try those oaties.
Have a fantastic time on your honeymoon.
Hugs,
AA

Wow what a tasty looking dessert!! I think I would fall in love with anything that looked like a giant cookie 😉
