{Weekend Recap} – Old Fashion Ice Cream Bars

We had beautiful weather this weekend and we made sure to come out and play with the sun.

Last week we went hiking and got wet in the morning rain, but this weekend, it felt like Spring season is on its way.

The path along the hiking trails were filled with blooming flowers. What a difference a week makes huh?

What my weekends are usually made of……sun and outdoors!

There were six of us girls who met up for our weekly hike and we had a fun time catching up with everyone.

If you ever come visit Orange County and you love being outdoors, be sure to make time to check out the trails.

Today, Chris and I walked around OC Marketplace and we enjoyed  some old-fashioned ice cream bars. I like Bob’s ice cream because they taste so creamy and not overly sweet.

Crunchy on the outside, super creamy in the inside. Reminds me of the ice cream I used to enjoy in my childhood.

Chris got the chocolate sprinkles, it was good too but I prefer the texture of the nuts.

One of my favorite part of the OC Marketplace is the Farmers Market section. The produce is cheap and when you go there around closing time, everything is basically priced half off.

Avocados are in season, so we picked up 6 for $2, what a bargain.

Chris bought a bag of tomatoes and made fresh salsa when we got home. Nothing taste better than fresh ingredients and we’ve pretty much ate 3/4 of the huge bowl of salsa that he made.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

  9. Does Bob’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream reside at the OC Marketplace? I’ve been looking for it for years.

    • Hi Leo,

Yes, I think it is there permanently because it’s always there when we go. It’s not a booth but an actual building in the food area. I hope you find it.
