I don’t know about you but I am not ready to let go of Halloween yet. I think I’m going to extend Halloween celebration for another week. This year’s Halloween festivities was so much fun.
We went to both Knott’s Scary Farm and Universal Studios Horror Nights. Unfortunately the only pictures that survived are from Knott’s (there were some issues with my hard drive and a month’s worth of pictures were lost and unrecoverable)
Halloween Haunt at Knott’s Scary Farm
This is my 3rd year going to the mazes at Knott’s and it’s getting less and less scary for me. Instead of being frightened, I’m giggling most of the time. I love watching first timers and how they are on the edge the whole time. I was like that too.
The corn stalkers maze is still scary for me though. It hasn’t lost its scary factor yet.
Watched a fun show that was filled with pop culture spoof, imagine Saturday Night Live meets Glee.
You’ll be surprised how thirsty you get after screaming your way thru the maze. Free iced water never tasted to good. Even my Larabar carrot cake bar looks spooky when eaten at a haunted place.
After a weekend filled with decadent desserts at the family party, I was craving simple foods today.
I was craving vegetables all day and actually ate 2 large containers of broccoli. Today marks the beginning of operation “eat all the fresh produce before you leave town”.
I will be out of town beginning Thursday, I am flying out to San Francisco to attend the 2nd Annual Foodbuzz Blogger Festival. Out of 8,000+ food bloggers, I am 1 of 350 bloggers that is lucky enough to attend. I am so excited, I just can’t hide it.
On to my simple but very tasty dinner. I drizzled Garlic Gold oil and Garlic Gold nuggets to the vegetables and roasted them until tender.
Served with a side of stir-fried tofu cooked in my favorite hot & spicy Trader Joe’s sauce.
Easy, simple and nutritious dinner.
The halloween action looks like so much fun! I love being a little scared 🙂 Sorry to hear about the picture loss- what a bummer. I love a big bowl of vegetables baked up with just a bit of cheese, garlic, bread crumbs or all three- makes for a filling and tasty meal. Have so much fun at Food Buzz…I wish I could go!
I love Halloween haunted mazes. Everything Halloween always makes me so happy ha. 🙂
Do you like the Larbar carrot cake? I have heard great things about it but never tried it myself.
Hollie, the Larabar carrot cake flavor didn’t really taste like carrot cake to me, more of a spiced muffin flavor. I like it because of the short ingredients and dates always gives me burst of energy right after I eat them. Which I needed to run away from the monsters that night, lol!
I’ve never tried garlic gold in either oil or medallion form – it looks really interesting 🙂
I like to make myself a grilled veggie sandwich in my panini press when I’m “pressed” for time, ahoho. I love instant brown rice, too. And savory oats.
Savvy, since I started using Garlic Gold, it has really made my cooking more tasty 🙂 A little goes a long way with the oil and nuggets.
I’m never made savory oats, I’m intrigued by it though.
I went to Great America’s Haunted thingy a couple years ago and thought it was a blast!
I’m so jealous that all you food bloggrs will be in my city and I’m not even joining. Maybe I can crash a dinner 😉
Shanna, if you’re available on Saturday, they’ve opened up the 4 hour food tasting pavilion to friends and family. It’s $30, let me know if you are interested, I can try to get you tickets.
What fun! I love Halloween festivities! And lucky you, attending the Foodbuzz festival! If only it were held in NYC…
PS Thanks for stopping by my blog 🙂
Hope you have fun in San Fran! We went on operation clean out fridge last week only to have our trip postponed. Now we’re scrounging 😉
i’m such a wimp – i can’t go to knotts scary farm b/c i don’t like the spooky stuff…
funny, i’ll have to go all the way to san fran to see you in person!
I used to be really scared too even though I kept reminding myself that it’s fake. Anyways, I think to have the best experience is to go as a large group, you’ll have friends who will serve as buffers from the monster.
Knott’s was fun but Universal Horror Nights is even better. More professional since they use real movie sets. You should check it out next year.
See you soon.
looks like you had a blast at knotts! whenever we’re in cali, we always stop by the knotts takeout area for their chicken and biscuits, but i’ve never actually been to the park.
those veggies look awesome, now you have me craving broccoli. 🙂
Sunny, I’ve never had the chicken and biscuits from Knott’s. Hmmm, I’ll tell the fiance about it. I do like the funnel cake they sell outside though.
I never used to get excited for roasted veggies but once I started using Garlic Gold, it has really taken the flavor up a notch for these veggies. We buy broccoli in bulk at Costco now.
First off, YAY for getting chosen to go to Foodbuzz’s blogger festival– can I say, JEALOUS? 🙂
Second, oddly, your dinner looks quite similar to my own tonight– tofu, lots of veggies and well I had, farro too. So quick and so yummy. Definitely one my favorite comfort foods, other than oatmeal, roasted veggies, almond butter….. 🙂
yall look AWEEEEESOME!
have fun at foodbuzz- i am soo jealous!
