Swimming with Manta Rays

Wordless Wednesday…(sort of)

One of the most amazing experience I had in Hawaii was the night we swam with giant Manta Rays.

If you ever get a chance to swim with Manta Rays, I highly recommend it.

  1. I love the pics! I’m glad you had a great time!!

  2. I remember when I swam with dolphins and it was a beautiful experience as well!

    • I’ve yet to swim with dolphins. I had a chance to do it when we were in Bahamas but it was too pricey at the resort.

Swimming with Manta Rays was surprisingly less expensive and it included food/snacks on the boat.

  3. Looks fun (and terrifying)! 🙂

    • Terrifying at first because there were so huge but not once did we touch them. The staff of the boat told us that it was a great night because about 15+ Manta Rays were in the area.

Usually it’s a hit or miss, they don’t guarantee that you see Manta Rays every night.

  4. Looks like you had a great time!

But there’s no way you could get me to do that… lol

    • I was scared in the beginning (as you can see on my face in the pictures) but enjoyed myself once I was in the water and realized the Manta Rays were harmless.

  5. Your posts and pics are always fun and I like the variety of your topics.

    • Thank you. It was fun.

I write on my blog about the things I love to do, including my travel adventures. I like to share pictures because I love photography and I like seeing them also on other blogs. It inspires me to go out and travel.

You’re in Italy…a place I dream of visiting someday.

  6. Those pictures are amazing! I am terrified of sea creatures on their own, much less swimming with them.

    • Holly..it wasn’t scary at all. Well I was nervous in the beginning but warmed up to them right after we jumped in the water.

This was totally out of my comfort zone. I’m so proud I did it or I would have missed out on the experience.

  7. Oh god, that’s terrifying! Aren’t those things dangerous?

    • My fiance was with me and he does all sorts of dives. I felt safe being with him and there a lot of people around and scuba divers underneath us too.

We had to swim in a way where our fins didn’t touch them, had to swim horizontal the whole night. Lots of core work I tell ya!

  8. Thanks for stopping by my blog, I look forward to reading yours too!

The photos on this post are great, especially the one of the boats in the sunset. I love anything nautical 🙂

  9. great photos! how fun… I grew up spending summers in Hawaii (my father is from there) and I went snorkeling one year, but didn’t think to take photos!! (oh, to have a blog long ago…!) 🙂

I love Hawaii so much, and miss it – it’s been a few years since I’ve been back… thanks for giving me a glimpse!

  10. I think its always fun seeing vacation pics! I’ve been to so many places around the world but not many in the states and Hawaii included and I want to go so bad! We should totally try to do a blogger meetup there!

    • What? Hawaii blogger meet-up? I’m in. I would volunteer to organize the trip if people are interested 🙂

We need to take advantage of our hotel discounts Eden.

  11. When I was in 7th grade we went on a cruise to the Cayman Islands and went on an excursion to swim with the manta rays. I got too freaked out and wouldn’t go in. I wish I had now. It seems so cool!
