One of the things I enjoyed the most during wedding planning were the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) projects that I completed. I love doing arts and crafts, I love the creative process and I love that I can see the finish product right away.
When our wedding guests arrived in Puerto Vallarta, we gave each of them a tote bag that contained items we thought would be fun and useful during their stay in Mexico.
The Out-Of-Town guests bags included a welcome letter and several items, which a few of them were DIY projects.
One of the things I created for our guests were key card holders. We stayed in an all-inclusive resort, so our guests used the key card holders for their hotel room keys, cash for tip money and other items like ID and credit card.
I started by designing the inserts on Microsoft powerpoint. I used our wedding colors for the design. If you want the template, contact me and I can email it to you.

Then I printed it on cardstock paper, they can be purchased at Michael’s or Staples.
I then cut the cards individually and then inserted them into the plastic badge holders that I purchased online. Next step was to attached the next lanyards. I chose badge holders that have zippers and keep water away. You can purchase them here.
I used mine during our stay, even if I wasn’t wearing it around my neck, I always had the key holder in my beach bag. A few guests came up to me and said it was a really good idea. Yay!
